Demonstration of a widely distributed atrial pacemaker complex in the human heart.
the sinus pacemaker complex extends from the superior vena cava-right atrial junction along the long axis of the crista terminalis extending toward the inferior vena cava - right atrial junction. The grid catheters we have used are those that are currently available. We are unaware of a grid or plaque, sufficiently large to cover the entire complex, which can be safely inserted into the endocardial aspect of the atrium via an 8-F introducer. The observations within the field of view are, however, entirely valid.
