Lead deformation of the stylet-driven lead in left bundle branch area pacing

Published:February 14, 2023DOI:https://doi.org/10.1016/j.hrthm.2023.02.009
Recently, a novel specialized delivery sheath that allows for left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) using standard stylet-driven leads (SDLs) with an extendable helix design has been introduced. However, LBBAP using SDLs was found to result in more frequent lead deformation and fracture than LBBAP using lumenless leads, most of which occurred during lead repositioning.

Given this safety concern, we investigated the relationship between implantation technique and lead deformation during the LBBAP procedure using the isolated porcine heart.
