Patients with cardiac diseases or conditions with high risk of developing cardiac diseases undergo risk assessment by cardiologists, primary care physicians, and scientists based on referral for more advanced risk assessment strategies, institution of preventive treatments, counselling of patients and their relatives, and selection of patients for scientific trials.
