Atrial lead implantation in the Bachmann bundle
The search for alternative atrial pacing sites has been driven by the observation that atrial activation patterns can influence the incidence of atrial fibrillation (AF).1,2 One goal of atrial pacing is to prevent nonphysiologic delay between right and left atrial activation. Pacing from atrial sites that decrease dispersion of atrial refractoriness may decrease the incidence of AF.
